Cabins & Heads

Cabins

The beds are full queen size, positioned directly under the ventilation hatches.

Always close the hatches before sailing or if leaving the boat unattended, check that the securing handles are in the fully down position, there is an intermediate position that is not water tight.

Keep fingers clear of the pinch zones around the hinges, do not push the hatches open beyond the vertical position.

There are also side ventilation ports in the cabins and heads, as with the hatches, close the side ports before sailing.

Each cabin has a light positioned over the standing area of the cabin, the switch is located on the end of the light unit. There are also two reading lights either side of the head board with the switch on each unit. A dimmer control knob is positioned next to the power outlet.

There is an AC outlet by the bed side. Please do not plug any high powered equipment into these outlets as it will trip the electrical breakers
.

There is a fan mounted at the foot of each bed. To turn the fan on rotate the center knob all the way to the right, this is the highest speed. Back to the left, one click is the slowest speed, all the way to the left is off.

There is good locker and storage space but remember to bring soft luggage as hard suitcases will not fit into the stowage areas.

The cabin doors have securing catches to keep them in the open position when under way. Please utilize these to prevent damage or injury from banging doors.

Head Compartment

The toilet and shower are combined in one compartment. The whole interior is white G.R.P. that can be easily wiped down after use. The light is located directly above the wash basin, the on/off switch is positioned on the end of the light unit.

Marine Toilet

Correct use of the marine toilet must be observed. It is most important that nothing other than human waste and the toilet tissue provided is flushed down the toilet. Blockages are unpleasant to deal with and cause inconvenience but by following these instructions this can be avoided.

Young children will find it difficult to operate the toilets and should be assisted by an adult.

Make sure the inlet and outlet sea cocks are open before attempting to use the toilet.

Observe local laws and switch the Y valve to holding tank or overboard.

When you collect your vessel these items will already be in the correct position.

There are two controls on the Jabsco manual marine toilet, the pump handle and the two-position lever.

1. Before using the toilet push the lever fully to the left ( wet bowl ).

2. Now pump the handle slowly 10 times, this primes the toilet and bowl with sea water.

3. The toilet can now be used.

4. To flush the toilet pump the handle a further 10 times.

5. Now push the lever fully to the right (dry bowl ) and pump the handle until the bowl is empty. Push the lever fully to the left (wet bowl ) and pump the handle a further 10 times.

6. Repeat step 5 until the bowl is clean.

7. Leave a small amount of water in the bowl after use.

Remember

Do not put paper towels, cotton wool, sanitary towels, tampons, chewing gum, dental floss or anything other than the toilet tissue provided in the bowl, use as sparingly as possible.

Do not pump the handle too vigorously, use slow, steady strokes.

Do use plenty of water to flush the the system, it prevents blockages and bad odours

Do make sure the two-position lever is fully to the left or right before pumping the handle otherwise damage can occur

Shower and Faucet

There is a hot and cold water mixer tap and trigger operated shower in each head compartment. To start the water flow, raise the lever on the mixer tap and rotate to left or right. Press the trigger down on the shower head or raise the trigger vertically for continuous flow. The water is evacuated from the shower sump by an automatic pump. You will hear this pump and the water pressure pump running when the shower is in use , this is normal. After you have finished using the faucet, turn off the lever at the mixer tap and release the pressure at the shower head, this prevents loss of water in the event of a hose leaking.

The hot water is heated by a heat exchanger on the main engines. Just after the motors have been run the water can be very hot. Always set the mixer tap to cold first and add in hot slowly. An adult should set the water temperature for young children.

Take care not to bring beach sand into the shower compartments, it will collect in the sump drains and block the outlet pipes. Sand can be rinsed from bathing suits at the transom showers on the stern of the boat.
